Birthdays, Kids, Matthew Edward

Bubble’s Second Birthday

I want to start this by saying, I can’t even believe two years have passed since these were taken!

He has grown so much! He has so many words now, makes sentences, sometimes uses the potty. He can tell me what he wants and needs. Sometimes even asking for a nap! I am so proud of and amazed by him on a daily basis.
We bought him a birthday outfit. We’re practical about these things now, we know he’s going to get is dirty and play we we got just a regular outfit instead of finding a suit. The words and dinosaur glow, which he was not as excited about as we thought he’d be. His Meema bought him these awesome Ninja Turtle light up shoes.

Pokemon Theme

My toddler is obsessed with Pokemon. I’d like to say it was Pokemon themed, however I decorated very little. We did have Pokeball cupcakes and coasters though! I made Pokeball earrings too. My sister made the cupcakes with her daughter.

The coasters we played with instead of used.

The party was so much fun. I don’t know if we’ve ever had a party here that was quite as magical as this one. There was this random cat that showed up and hung out in the back yard.

My sister’s boyfriend made some awesome wings!
My best friend wrapped his new copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard
like only a nerd would! It made my heart so happy.
Early morning lightsaber battle!

Birthday ice cream!

First taste of jello!

My other sister and I, not sure why I didn’t get a picture with both of them.

The one present he actually had the attention span to unwrap.

Face first cake eating!

He made his cousin Bella cuddle with him.
The day was so beautiful weather wise, and the general mood of the party was great. Everyone who came said they had a good time and my kids were well behaved. I got to see all my family in one day! With the exception of my grandma, I was sad to hear she got a little heat exhaustion the day before so she couldn’t make it.
I couldn’t have asked for a better day, or a better group of people to spend it with!
What kinds of things do you do for your kids’ birthdays?
